Valentine’s Day Newsletter

On this day of hearts and chocolate and sweet reminders of love, I wish to thank all of our contributors for their hearts and continual support.

You have joined forces to support the teachers of Chimoza, our “on-the-ground” unsung heroes, and allow The Q Fund to carry on. The teachers and students send you many blessings with sincere gratitude.

Thank you to the two teenage boys who donated their Christmas present money; to the pregnant mother who bought 36 copies of African Journal to share this message with others; to the hundreds of students in high schools and colleges from California to Maryland to Colorado and all points in between who put on plays and fashion and talent shows, held bake sales, wrote and sold their poetry, organized lie-ins on World AIDS Day and participated in fun runs and ski races; to the students of all ages who write pen pal letters back and forth between America and Zambia; California pediatrician who visited our students at Chimoza; to Crocs for donating 500 pairs of shoes; to all of the young professionals who earmark a contribution from their salaries; to the group of
women who funded a Garden of Peace at Chimoza; to the woman who is sending goodie boxes to the students; to the galleries and bookstores who hosted fundraising photo exhibitions; to the private family foundation who gives annually; and to family and dear friends who have tirelessly cheered us on. To the lovely “African Library” gal who sent over 3000 books to create a lending library at Chimoza, to the volunteers who gave of their time, talent and money. To the birthday girl who gave
money earmarked for a 40th birthday party. And to all others who give from a place of compassion and courage.

Thank you!
