A beautiful letter

A heartfelt letter from a student at Oldfields that  captures what inspires the Q Fund and its supporters in a beautiful way - thank you Hannah!

Dear Ms. Kew,

A few years ago when i was then a student you visited Oldfields School during alumni weekend to talk with us about your organization and the work that you have done.

Ever since you came that day I have remembered the stories you told, the pictures that you had taken, and the message that you conveyed to us.I was so moved and inspired by what you had accomplished and the powerful impact that you had made in the lives of others that it made me believe that i too could make a similar impact if I worked hard enough.

Your simple message that  any child can realize their worth and achieve their goals if they are shown the right tools and given an environment where they can be creative, express their passions and imagine the possibilities is so important.

I have also always thought your philosophy that we are all citizens of the world is so true, and that it is our duty as members of our global community to be curious about the cultures of others, and to be eager to learn more and strengthen our understanding about the world around us.

I too believe that education is the absolute most important and powerful tool because once you have been given the knowledge of something it can never be taken away.

The mind is one muscle that can never be weakened, only made stronger

Currently I am in my second year at Bennington College in Vermont where I am studying languages and Anthropology.

Hannah
